The head coach of Miner 2015 Georgi Mladenov was suspended for 8 matches. The reason was “attempted self-harm involving physical contact with a competitor from the team of BK Polytechnic" during the match between the two teams on February 22, 2023.

from a meeting of the Disciplinary Commission of the Bulgarian Basketball League at the BBF

At a meeting held on 01.03.2023, the Disciplinary Commission (DC) of the Bulgarian Basketball League (BBL) considered a complaint from  BK "Polytechnic", the report of Mr Konstantin Kaserov - security administrator, Mr. Todor Ivanov - duty representative of the BSE, Mr. Vladimir Zanev - senior judge, Mr. Ivan Metodiev - judge, information of the other officials present at the meeting, as well as a response to BC "Miner 2015" and an opinion called an open letter of Georgi Mladenov Mladenov – regarding incidents from meeting No. 103 between the teams of BC "Polytechnic" and BC "Miner 2015' from the men's championship A group West, held on 22.02.2023 at 9:30 p.m. in Hall Triaditsa, Sofia and got acquainted with the attached photographic material and reports of witnesses who were present at the basketball meeting mentioned above. Based on the received REPORTS and the EVIDENCE attached to them, on the basis of Art. 8 of the DP of BBL, the Disciplinary Committee:

RESOLVE:

1. Imposes on Georgi Mladenov Mladenov - coach of the team of BC "Miner 2015", punishment - deprivation of official rights for 8 /eight/ meetings of BC "Miner 2015" and a fine in the amount of 400 /four hundred/ BGN, on the basis of Art. 20 of "DP of BBL "A" Group, for attempted self-harm involving physical contact with a player on the team BC "Polytechnic", in meeting No. 103 between the teams of BC "Polytechnic" and BC "Miner 2015" from the men's championship A group West, held on 22.02.2023 at 9:30 p.m. in Hall Triaditsa, Sofia city

Reasons: According to the report received by Mr Konstantin Kaserov - security administrator, Mr. Todor Ivanov - duty representative of the BSE, Mr. Vladimir Zanev - senior judge, Mr. Ivan Metodiev - judge, as well as the other officials present at the meeting - from meeting No. 103, between the teams of BC "Polytechnic" and BC "Miner 2015" from the men's championship A group West, held on 22.02.2023 at 9:30 p.m. in Hall Triaditsa, Sofia, after the end of the meeting, when the players of the two teams congratulate each other, the senior coach of BC "Miner 2015" Mr. Pernik Georgi Mladenov has flown to the competitor of BC "Polytechnic" Omar Walid El-Ayoubi, who gave him a sportsman's hand, but he received a push in the neck area, which is evident from the video of the meeting after its end, after which the head coach of BC "Miner 2015" Mr. Pernik Georgi Mladenov used obscene and cynical expressions towards the competitor of BC "Polytechnic" Omar Walid El-Ayoubi, for which on the basis of Art. 20 of the DP of BBL A group, DK of BBL imposes the above penalties for the violations committed.

The decision is subject to appeal before the Arbitration Commission of the BSE within two weeks of sending the notification to the e-mail of BC "Miner 2015".

However, it is not clear from the decision whether the punishment applies only to BBL A group or for the upcoming quarter-final matches in the tournament for The BBL Cup, where Miner 2015 also participated. Georgi Mladenov however, he will be able to lead the other teams that he coaches - Miner 2015 B, Achilles and Achilles U19.
