Victory for Lightning against Bay Kings Varna

Victory for Lightning vs Bay Kings Varna.

In the hall of the University of Varna, Lightning prevailed over Bay kings Varna by a score of 86-74, in a regular season matchup in the BBL East Region Group B.

The team of Lightning controlled the game throughout, with the difference in the score reaching over 20 points, but Bay Kings managed to get back into the match and make the opponent's job more difficult.

Elizar Krastev and Vladimir Marinov were most useful for Lightning with 19 points each, and the brothers Dimitar and Alexander Yanchevi scored 13 and 11 points, respectively.

For the team of Bay Kings, Delyan Kolev distinguished himself with 20 points and 9 rebounds, the new addition to the team recorded 17 points Veselin Mladenov, a Zheleslav Nenkov recorded a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds.

After this meeting, the two teams have the same asset of one win and one loss and are ranked back to back in 3rd and 4th place in the provisional standings.

Draws have been made for the National Finals in BBL Group A and Group B

The draw for the National Finals in BBL A and B group was withdrawn. The event took place in Haskovo, with the participation of the mayor of the city Stanislav Dechev, the representatives of BBL Orlin Atanasov and Danail Milev, as well as fans from the audience.

According to the regulation for the National Finals, the top two teams from each of the four regions of the respective division qualify, playing in a Final Eight format of direct elimination.

Sportsman 1959 and IU however, they will not take part in the National Finals in BBL A group, entering their places The Fab Five from the West region and Shumen A from the East. The situation is the same with Showtime B from the region East of BBL B group, as it will be replaced by Lightning.

University of Economics qualified for the semifinals in the East region

IU beat Lightning in Targovishte with 78:56, the guests had a minimal lead after the first part, but after a very strong second half at the break they pulled away with 39:27. The game was relatively even after the break, as IU maintained a solid lead and led 54:43 before the last quarter. By the end, however, the difference began to grow again and the Varna team won convincingly.

Emil Mihalev was the most effective for the success with 22 points, 15 each added Alexander Podskokiev and Michael Zhekov.

For Lightning he was above all Nikolay Nenov with 27 points, Alexander Yanchev scored 13, with 12 f Aybas Abilov.

BULGARIAN BASKETBALL LEAGUE (BBL) is a national basketball league established in 2016. FROM 2020. In recent years, the League has become one of the largest team championships in Bulgaria.

BBL A group, and from 2022 and B group are included as official state championships to the Bulgarian Basketball Federation. Thus, basketball in Bulgaria acquired a complete pyramidal structure. A definite start to the playoffs for IU

IU started its participation in the playoffs in the East region with a victory. The team led 1-0 on Lightning, after defeating him convincingly on his own ground with 82:48 at the start of the peculiar quarter-finals.

The series is played up to two wins, with the date of the second match yet to be announced.

The match started with many mistakes by both teams, and after the first half the home team led 14:8. Very quickly, however, they took the initiative and in just five minutes the gap jumped to 21. Lightning responded with a run of 9:0, but at the break the opponent again had a serious advantage, this time at 39:20. After the break IU maintained a gap of about 20 points and the final quarter began at 61:37 in his favor. Despite their big lead, Petko Delev's basketball players did not allow themselves to relax and in the remaining time made their success even more expressive. Their most serious advantage was in the basket, where they scored 54 points against 28 for their opponent.

Dimitar Mirchev scored 19 points for IU. Alexander Podskokiev is with 17, 14 has Dimitar Iliev, and 12 and 18 tackle records Emil Mihalev.

For Lightning Vasil Vasilev scored 17 points, 11 rebounds Aybas Abilov, and 18 rebounds caught Nikolay Nenov.
