100 teams have applied for the new season in the BBL championships

A total of 100 teams from all over Bulgaria applied for participation in the championships Bulgarian Basketball League in the 2023/2024 season. The deadline for this passed at the beginning of the week.

According to the planned development strategy of the BBL championships, the maximum number of participating teams in one division is 12. For this reason, the teams that had a representative in them this year also have priority, and new teams are on the waiting list.

Traditionally, the greatest interest is again in the West region, where, in addition to A and B, there is also a B group, and a total of 47 teams have applied in the three divisions. The South region follows with 23 teams, the East with 19, and the Center with 11. There is a separate registration for BBL Women.

By June 20, every club that has applied for the new BBL season must also pay a deposit guaranteeing participation.

Lightning B with victory in BBL B group

A similar scenario suggested the other meeting in which Lightning B prevailed over Dream Team Trojan with 83:81.

In this match as well, the team from Targovishte had a double-digit lead, but 9 seconds before the end, the opponent equalized for 81:81. However, the big hero turned out to be Vladimir Marinov, who then signed and brought success to his team.

Venelin Parvanov led the win with 26 points and 9 rebounds, Dimitar Yanchev added 23 points.

For Dream Team Trojan triple-double of 17 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists did Tsvetoslav Ostrev.

BULGARIAN BASKETBALL LEAGUE (BBL) is a national basketball league established in 2016. FROM 2020. In recent years, the League has become one of the largest team championships in Bulgaria.

BBL A group, and from 2022 and B group are included as official state championships to the Bulgarian Basketball Federation. Thus, basketball in Bulgaria acquired a complete pyramidal structure. The league is structured and takes place on a regional tournament basis in four regions - West, South, East and Center.

Heber B guarantees a place in the Top 4

Heber B guaranteed a place in the Top 4 after success against Lightning B with 84:62 after a more stable game in the basket.

The first half was low-scoring, but the team from Pazardzhik took the initiative in the opening minutes and at the break pulled away with 34:25 in their favor. The team played a very strong third quarter, after which they broke away with a 25-point lead, which practically and finally decided the match in their favor.

Double-double for the winners of 23 points and 12 rebounds did Nikolai Ninov, with 17 points and 14 rebounds Metodi Iliev.

The team from Targovishte scored 14 points each Vladimir Marinov, Venelin Parvanov (9 tackles) and Milen Atanasov.

The program for the National Finals in BBL Group A and B is ready

After the draw was made over the weekend for the National Finals in BBL A and B group, the program for the matches is already ready.

The decisive stage of the championship in BBL A group will be held in the period June 9-11 in Haskovo. The matches from BBL B group they will be in Stara Zagora from June 2 to 4. It is played on a direct elimination basis.
