Individual awards at the National Finals in BBL Group B

The basketball player of Achilles Pavel Todorov was voted Most Valuable Player at the National Finals in BBL B group. He played a very strong tournament in Stara Zagora and was a key contributor to winning the gold honors for his team.

His teammate Georgi Kuchkov also earned an individual award as he received the honor for most assists.

The leading scorer of the National Finals became the basketball player of Carpopolis Veselin Veselinov.

Another player of the silver medalist this season received the award for the most steals - Teodor Atanasov.

The best wrestler became the competitor of Heber B Nikolai Ninov.

Achilles is the new BBL Group B champion

Achilles won the title in BBL B group in this season. The team finished first at the National Finals in Stara Zagora, after convincingly prevailing over Carpopolis with 75:46.

The medal is the second for the winners after the second place in the Cup, and with the success the team of Georgi Mladenov and got revenge on his opponent for the loss in the final in the West region.

After exchanging baskets at the start Achilles took the initiative and after ten minutes of play broke away with 23:8. Carpopolis got as close as 7 in the second period, but another strong run for the opponent increased its lead at the break at 45:24.

After the break, the game was much more even, like Achilles maintained a lead of over 20 points and won convincingly.

Pavel Todorov was the top scorer for the win with 28 points. Georgi Kuchkov scored 18 points, with 12 and 9 rebounds Jordan Kirilov.

It was above all for the opponent Veselin Veselinov with 17 points and 11 rebounds, Todor Petrov recorded 13 points and 13 rebounds.

BULGARIAN BASKETBALL LEAGUE (BBL) is a national basketball league established in 2016. FROM 2020. In recent years, the League has become one of the largest team championships in Bulgaria.

BBL A group, and from 2022 and B group are included as official state championships to the Bulgarian Basketball Federation. Thus, basketball in Bulgaria acquired a complete pyramidal structure. The league is structured and takes place on a regional tournament basis in four regions - West, South, East and Center.

Achilles overturned Heber B for a place in the BBL Group B final

Carpopolis and Achilles will play for the title in BBL B group in this season. The two teams, who also met in the West region final, won their highly contested semi-final matches at the championship, the decisive phase of which takes place in municipal hall in Stara Zagora.

There was a lot of intrigue in the second semi-final, in which Achilles turned Heber B for 76:74.

The first half was very contested, and at the break the score was tied again - 36:36. The capital team led almost throughout the third quarter, although by no more than 5-6 points, and before the final period its lead was minimal - 59:58.

Heber B started the decisive period very strongly and five minutes before the end he also pulled away with 7. Achilles however, he did not give up and with 34 seconds left, Georgi Denev converted for 74:73. Penalty kick on Nikolai Ninov leveled the score, but when it looked as though there would be a continuation, Georgi Kuchkov scored the winning basket for his team with 3 seconds left.

They scored 21 points for the winners Georgi Kuchkov and Jordan Kirilov (12 rebounds), with 16 points is Pavel Todorov.

Above all for the team from Pazardzhik Nikolai Ninov with 32 points and 15 rebounds, 16 points recorded Julius Arabadzhiyski, and 13 with 13 rebounds Georgi Adirkov.
