Olympia Yambol with dramatic success over MadGreeks.

In a highly contested match from the BBL B South regular season, the team of Olympia Yambol managed to pull off a 1-point win in the final seconds against the MadGreeks team.

The first half ended with a slight lead for Olympia Yambol, which quickly melted after the start of the break, but the Olympia boys played a strong final half to win the match 67-66.

The basis of the victory was the strong performance of Biser Hadjifilev with 21 points and 10 rebounds, as well as the Tihomir Koychev with 15 points and 18 rebounds.

To the MadGreeks team, above all Stoyan Velkov, who scored 16 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, followed by Jordan Nikolov, who scored 10 points.

With this victory, Olympia Yambol remains in 2nd place in the provisional standings with 4 wins and no losses, and MadGreeks occupies the 6th position.

Rogos pulled the win away from MadGreeks

Rogosh snatched the win from the MadGreeks.

After an equal battle in the Diana hall, the team of Rogosh was able to prevail over the MadGreeks 71-65.

A great last quarter was played by the graduates of Vladislav Bogunski and with that they recorded a second consecutive victory in the BBL South B championship.

The victory was based on an impressive double-double Valentin Videv with 21 points and 16 rebounds, as well as that of Philip Philipov with 17 points and 17 rebounds.

The MadGreeks team started the match weakly, but managed to mobilize in the 3rd part and take the lead in the result. In the last quarter, however, they failed to withstand the pressure of Rogosh and dropped the win.

Most helpful to MadGreeks Dimitar Georgiev with 24 points and 7 rebounds, followed by Stoyan Velkov, who added 17 points and 7 rebounds.

100 teams have applied for the new season in the BBL championships

A total of 100 teams from all over Bulgaria applied for participation in the championships Bulgarian Basketball League in the 2023/2024 season. The deadline for this passed at the beginning of the week.

According to the planned development strategy of the BBL championships, the maximum number of participating teams in one division is 12. For this reason, the teams that had a representative in them this year also have priority, and new teams are on the waiting list.

Traditionally, the greatest interest is again in the West region, where, in addition to A and B, there is also a B group, and a total of 47 teams have applied in the three divisions. The South region follows with 23 teams, the East with 19, and the Center with 11. There is a separate registration for BBL Women.

By June 20, every club that has applied for the new BBL season must also pay a deposit guaranteeing participation.
