The climax of the BBL Cup tournament is coming up this weekend in Vidin

The climax of the tournament for The BBL Cup this weekend in Vidin, and the starting time of the final match is already clear. The match that will decide the new winner of the trophy will start on Sunday (April 23) at 16:00.

A day earlier, on April 22 (Saturday), are the semi-finals, with the first of them opposing Achilles and Haskovo. The capital team is the only representative of BBL Group B to reach this stage of the competition.

Immediately after it, the other semi-final will be played, and there will be rivals in it Miner 2015 and Heber.

Heber is the only Final Four participant to have already won the tournament for The BBL Cup. The other two are Sportsman 1959 and Balkan A.

However, the basketball weekend in Vidin does not end only with the Cup matches. On Sunday, immediately before the final, the local Vidabasket will accept Chavdar Troyan at the start of the playoffs in the Center region of the BBL A group. IN Hall "Festival" three more matches will be played in the youth championships.

Haskovo completed the Top 8

Haskovo completed the Top 8 in the tournament for The BBL Cup, after winning the last match of the day Directioner with 88:68 in their own Friendship Hall. He has a derby with Sportist Svoge in the quarterfinals.

The entire first half was marked by multiple leadership changes, with the biggest difference being 7 points in favor of Ivan Kotsev's basketball players. However, they were seriously behind in the basket and trailed 41:46 at the break.

The game continued to be relatively even after the break, until the end of the third period Haskovo managed to take a slightly more solid lead at 64:55. However, a strong run in his favor at the beginning of the closing period increased the margin to 23, and by the end the team had no problem winning convincingly.

Ivaylo Tonev was at the heart of the success with an impressive 29 points and 20 rebounds. Dinko Hristov also had a double-double – 18 points and 13 rebounds, Vladimir Georgiev has 11 points, 10 added Tihomir Zhelev.

For Directioner, which consisted of only seven basketball players, Tsenko Nakov scored 27 points, Danail Hristov has 23 points and 10 rebounds.

BULGARIAN BASKETBALL LEAGUE (BBL) is a national basketball league established in 2016. FROM 2020. In recent years, the League has become one of the largest team championships in Bulgaria.

BBL A group, and from 2022 and B group are included as official state championships to the Bulgarian Basketball Federation. Thus, basketball in Bulgaria acquired a complete pyramidal structure. The league is structured and takes place on a regional tournament basis in four regions - West, South, East and Center.

Chavdar Troyan became the penultimate quarter-finalist for The BBL Cup, after success over Spartak Sandanski with 80:66.

One of the leaders in the Center region had an advantage in the basket, from where he scored more than half of his points, and interacted more successfully.

With much more experience besides, Rye was able to take an early lead in the game and then hold off the onslaught of the youngsters from Spartacus.

The first half was more even, with the break coming at 36:28. In the third period Rye imposed a double-digit difference, and in the last part he already broke away seriously and had no chance of turning around.

Radoslav Kochev fell one assist short of a triple-double – 15 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists. 25 for Rye scored Maxim Genov, 19 – Nikolai Marinov.

13 for Spartacus noted Daniel Delev, 12 – Hristo Todorov and 11 each – Vladimir Marinov and Stefan Gogev. Delev added 15 tackles to his tally.
