Showtime took the lead in the East final

Showtime led in the final series in the East region of BBL A group, and in the first match of it he won IU in Varna with 85:74.

The leader in the regular season built up a double-digit lead after the first half - 24:14, and at the break he pulled back at 44:30 in his favor. The difference jumped to 17 after the break, and although the opponent only came within 4 by the end, a complete turnaround was not achieved.

Justin Sutton was the leading scorer for the winners with 21 points. Krasimir Dimitrov recorded 19 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists, but also 7 fouls.

For IU Peter Hristov was above everyone with 25 points and 11 rebounds, with 14 f Dimitar Iliev.

BULGARIAN BASKETBALL LEAGUE (BBL) is a national basketball league established in 2016. FROM 2020. In recent years, the League has become one of the largest team championships in Bulgaria.

BBL A group, and from 2022 and B group are included as official state championships to the Bulgarian Basketball Federation. Thus, basketball in Bulgaria acquired a complete pyramidal structure. The league is structured and takes place on a regional tournament basis in four regions - West, South, East and Center.

A definite start to the playoffs for IU

IU started its participation in the playoffs in the East region with a victory. The team led 1-0 on Lightning, after defeating him convincingly on his own ground with 82:48 at the start of the peculiar quarter-finals.

The series is played up to two wins, with the date of the second match yet to be announced.

The match started with many mistakes by both teams, and after the first half the home team led 14:8. Very quickly, however, they took the initiative and in just five minutes the gap jumped to 21. Lightning responded with a run of 9:0, but at the break the opponent again had a serious advantage, this time at 39:20. After the break IU maintained a gap of about 20 points and the final quarter began at 61:37 in his favor. Despite their big lead, Petko Delev's basketball players did not allow themselves to relax and in the remaining time made their success even more expressive. Their most serious advantage was in the basket, where they scored 54 points against 28 for their opponent.

Dimitar Mirchev scored 19 points for IU. Alexander Podskokiev is with 17, 14 has Dimitar Iliev, and 12 and 18 tackle records Emil Mihalev.

For Lightning Vasil Vasilev scored 17 points, 11 rebounds Aybas Abilov, and 18 rebounds caught Nikolay Nenov.
