100 teams have applied for the new season in the BBL championships

A total of 100 teams from all over Bulgaria applied for participation in the championships Bulgarian Basketball League in the 2023/2024 season. The deadline for this passed at the beginning of the week.

According to the planned development strategy of the BBL championships, the maximum number of participating teams in one division is 12. For this reason, the teams that had a representative in them this year also have priority, and new teams are on the waiting list.

Traditionally, the greatest interest is again in the West region, where, in addition to A and B, there is also a B group, and a total of 47 teams have applied in the three divisions. The South region follows with 23 teams, the East with 19, and the Center with 11. There is a separate registration for BBL Women.

By June 20, every club that has applied for the new BBL season must also pay a deposit guaranteeing participation.

Lokomotiv Plovdiv won their last game of the regular season in South

Locomotive Plovdiv recorded a win in their final South Region regular season game at BBL A group. In the hall "Ivan Simeonov" in Pazardzhik the team won 3.6.9 Basketball Club with 78:66.

The match started with a very high score, after ten minutes of play 3.6.9 was ahead with 28:25, although in the opening minutes it was also behind by a double-digit difference. In the next two parts, the game continued very evenly, without anyone leading by more than 5 and the last quarter started at 55:50 in favor of the symbolic hosts. Already at the beginning of the closing period, however Locomotive made a complete turnaround and after a very strong last half won the match.

Kaloyan Panchev topped everyone for the winners with 24 points and 15 rebounds. Bogomil Dichev scored 18 points, with 14 and 8 assists Mikhail Andreev, 11 has Avram Andreev.

For the opponent Robert Radev scored 25 points, added 19 Asen Popov.

BULGARIAN BASKETBALL LEAGUE (BBL) is a national basketball league established in 2016. FROM 2020. In recent years, the League has become one of the largest team championships in Bulgaria.

BBL A group, and from 2022 and B group are included as official state championships to the Bulgarian Basketball Federation. Thus, basketball in Bulgaria acquired a complete pyramidal structure. The league is structured and takes place on a regional tournament basis in four regions - West, South, East and Center.

After the break though Heber again took the initiative and after 43 points only in the third part, at the end of it he pulled away with 84:61, and in the remaining time he won even more convincingly. The winners scored 11 three-pointers against 4, scoring 63 points under the basket, but did not score a penalty shot for the entire game, and took only one.

Hristo Buckkov was close to a triple-double for the win with 23 points, 16 rebounds and 9 assists, but also committed 8 fouls. Julius Arabadzhiyski He has 21 points, 18 and 12 rebounds Mikhail Pandev.
