Силна трета четвърт донесе първа победа за Olympia Yambol in B group of the South.

Olympia Yambol prevailed over Whirlwind Aitos със 76-53 в среща от първия кръг на Б група Юг.

Ключова за успеха се оказа третата част, в която баскетболистите на Olympia Yambol надделяха над Whirlwind Aitos с 29-10.

Todor Kirilov бе над всички за своя тим с 25 точки, 7 борби и 3 асистенции, следван от Косьо Великов, който се отчете със 17 точки и 6 борби.

От другата страна Емил Монев записа 17 точки и 5 борби, за Whirlwind Aitos, а с 12 точки и 3 борби от пейката се включи Йоан Николов.

BULGARIAN BASKETBALL LEAGUE (BBL) is a national basketball league established in 2016. FROM 2020. In recent years, the League has become one of the largest team championships in Bulgaria.

BBL A group, and from 2022 and B group are included as official state championships to the Bulgarian Basketball Federation. Thus, basketball in Bulgaria acquired a complete pyramidal structure. The league is structured and takes place on a regional tournament basis in four regions - West, South, East and Center.

100 teams have applied for the new season in the BBL championships

A total of 100 teams from all over Bulgaria applied for participation in the championships Bulgarian Basketball League in the 2023/2024 season. The deadline for this passed at the beginning of the week.

According to the planned development strategy of the BBL championships, the maximum number of participating teams in one division is 12. For this reason, the teams that had a representative in them this year also have priority, and new teams are on the waiting list.

Traditionally, the greatest interest is again in the West region, where, in addition to A and B, there is also a B group, and a total of 47 teams have applied in the three divisions. The South region follows with 23 teams, the East with 19, and the Center with 11. There is a separate registration for BBL Women.

By June 20, every club that has applied for the new BBL season must also pay a deposit guaranteeing participation.

Vihar Aytos took bronze in the BBL A Group South region

Whirlwind Aitos emphatically won the third place in the South region of BBL A group, after winning in the small final Plovdiv Mambas with 86:62. The match took place in Friendship Hall in Haskovo.

The basketball players of Decho Koeshinov took a 7-0 lead and after their opponent failed to score more than six minutes after the start, they pulled away at 17-6 after the first quarter. Despite scoring just one 3-pointer so far, in the second period they scored an impressive eight, five of which on Konstantin Koev, and at the break they broke away with 53:18, after the Plovdiv team had never been able to sign off from a long distance.

The difference in favor of Whirlwind passed the 40-point mark after the break, and the final quarter began at 74:32. Plovdiv Mambas convincingly won the closing period, but without doing anything to change the final outcome.

Konstantin Koev finished with 29 points (8 triples) and 12 rebounds. Stoil Aladzhov scored 17 points and 7 rebounds, and each scored 13 points Stoyan Milchev (10 assists) and Stoyan Petkov (14 fights).

It was for the rival above all Dilyan Barbov with 30 points and 7 rebounds, a Mikhail Krastev added 11 points.
