There are over 80 teams in the BBL 2023/24. The competition is held on a regional tournament basis. BBL - Bulgarian Basketball League is the second level of Bulgarian basketball, as in the current season 2023/24. men's basketball teams from over 35 Bulgarian cities participate.

The goal of the BBL is to popularize the game of basketball until it becomes a mass team sport in Bulgaria!
