Sportsman 1959 won its fourth straight West Region game at BBL A group, winning Directioner with 90:69 in the capital hala "Triad". The match was very contested, and the key to the final outcome was the strong last part for the winners.
The match started extremely contested with several exchanges of leadership. However, no one was able to break away from the result. After ten minutes the basketball players played Emil Goranov they had a minimum advance – 21:20. Their lead reached 8 in the second period, but just before the break Directioner turned in 46:44.
After the break, the game continued with a series of twists, and before the last part Sportsman 1959 led 64:60. However, the team started the final quarter with 15 unanswered points, after more than four minutes without a basket for the led by Ivan Kotsev team, which finally put an end to the dispute.
The entire starting five finished with double-digit scoring assets for the winners, with the top scorer with 23 points being Boris Matrakov (7 fights). Jimmy Hunt scored 20 points with 13 rebounds Simeon Tsenov, and added 10 points each Ivan Tsenov (10 fights) and Damian Stoyanov.For Directioner, who was without his captain Todor Kolev, Tsenko Nakov tallied 24 points and 7 rebounds. Danail Hristov has 23 points, Pavlin Ganchev recorded 14 rebounds and 8 assists.

BULGARIAN BASKETBALL LEAGUE (BBL) is a national basketball league established in 2016. FROM 2020. In recent years, the League has become one of the largest team championships in Bulgaria.
BBL A group, and from 2022 and B group are included as official state championships to the Bulgarian Basketball Federation. Thus, basketball in Bulgaria acquired a complete pyramidal structure. The league is structured and takes place on a regional tournament basis in four regions - West, South, East and Center.
