Plovdiv Mambas is the second quarter-finalist in the tournament for The BBL Cup in this season. In an extremely dramatic match in the Druzhba Hall in Haskovo, the team turned the BBL Group B competitor Young Boys with 109:105 after overtime and secured a meeting with Miner 2015 in the next phase.

The capital team had a slight advantage in the opening minutes, but then its rival took the initiative and led 27:23, scoring an impressive 15 penalty kicks for one part. In the second period, the two teams repeatedly exchanged the lead. Plovdiv Mambas however, he was never able to make a three-pointer for the entire first half and was already trailing 44:50 at the break.

After the break the lead of Young Boys reached 12 points, but before the final quarter, only 6 remained of it - 74:68. The situation was repeated in the last part as well. From a double-digit deficit, the team from Plovdiv came back into the game again, but this time it also achieved a complete turnaround, leading with 96:94 with 33 seconds remaining after a second consecutive three-pointer by Dilyan Barbov. Misses followed on both sides, but at the very end Pavel Teofilov equalize and send the match to overtime. The difference in it never exceeded 4 points, but still Plovdiv Mambas led most of the time and managed to pull out the win.

Zlatomir Donchev finished with 36 points and 13 rebounds for the win, Haidar Barakat has 35 points and 14 rebounds, Dilyan Barbov recorded 29 points and 9 rebounds.

For Young Boys with 29 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists, but also 5 fouls Victor Germanov. Pavel Teofilov has 24 points and 8 rebounds, Veselin Traikov has 16 points, 11 goals Denis Vassilev (13 tackles), a Ivan Iliev has 10 points and 12 rebounds.

BULGARIAN BASKETBALL LEAGUE (BBL) is a national basketball league established in 2016. FROM 2020. In recent years, the League has become one of the largest team championships in Bulgaria.

BBL A group, and from 2022 and B group are included as official state championships to the Bulgarian Basketball Federation. Thus, basketball in Bulgaria acquired a complete pyramidal structure.
